X-Ray Technician, Grade HL01

Contract Type & Duration: Fixed-term appointment of 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need of the post.

The main responsibilities include:
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:
- Performs all x-ray services (manual and digital) to patients referred by Medical Officer(s) in the centre to which assigned.
- Deals with all correspondence, compiles statistics and keeps the relevant records pertaining to the X-ray services manually and electronically (E-Health) as applicable.
- Maintains radiology equipment and performs periodic preventive maintenance.
- Orders consumable supplies and ensure proper disposable of waste maintains proper storage of x-ray films and chemicals (fixer and developer) in the centre to which assigned.
- Maintains a healthy and safe work environment in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations for the use of x-ray services in the host country.
- Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Conditions of service:
Monthly basic salary JD 834.16. Other benefits include:
- Provident Fund contribution (15% of basic salary paid by the Agency).
- Dependency allowances (if applicable).
- 30 days of annual leave.
- Compulsory medical insurance
To qualify for this position, you will need:
Education: Successful completion of Secondary Education. A certificate of a two-year diploma of X-Ray Technician granted by a training institution recognized by UNRWA. Possession of a license to practice laboratory services (where applicable). Preference will be given to BA holders in medical imaging/ X- Ray Technique.
Work experience: At least two years experience as an X-Ray Technician. Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.
Language(s): Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
